Facilities at HGF

Hunting Ground Farm offers high quality board that is among the best in the area. Our staff has years of experience with horses and their care. We also employ a small part time staff to assist with barn chores and lesson children. The owner lives on the premesis.

HGF has two barns, an indoor ring (80' x 200'), two outdoor rings (150' x 300' & 190' X 350'), and 14 pastures.

Our lower barn has 20 stalls, featuring both indoor & outdoor wash stalls with hot and cold running water, a feed room, a lounge, and a tack room. Stalls are matted and bedded with straw and have swinging doors. There are also 3 cross ties and space available for tack trunks.

The upper barn has 18 stalls and is brand new. It features two indoor wash stalls (with hot and cold running water), heated and air conditioned feed room, bathroom, and a tack room. The 12' x 12' stalls are matted and bedded with sawdust and have sliding doors. There are also 6 cross ties and space available for tack trunks. Our tack room also has running water, as well as being climate controlled.

The indoor is state-of-the art and brand new. 80' x 200', it has sand footing and 6 sliding doors for ventilation during summer months. Also featuring many windows, a heated secretaries' booth/viewing area, and a judges stand.

The outdoor ring is 150' x 300' and has blue stonedust/sand combination footing. It is lighted for night time riding and features all board fencing. There are 2 judges stands and 2 gates, as well as speakers for announcing at the horse shows.

Our new stonedust ring is 190' x 350'. The footing is blue stonedust. There is a judges stand, speakers, and a hill for visitors to sit on and watch.

We have 14 pastures. Having multiple fields allows us to turn out in small groups of 2-4 horses. Our pastures are regularly rested and re-seeded. They feature all board fencing with a strand of "hot wire" on top to discourage chewing, cribbing, and disagreements with equine neighbors.
